Myrtle Beach Recommendation

Anyone have a recommendation for a family oriented campground in Myrtle Beach area.

Pirate Land or Lakewood. Both have excellent pool areas (fairly new) and not near as crazy as Ocean Lakes.

They are all real nice, we pick pirate land for the 10x10 shelter on our site. The splash park is also only about 2 yrs old. You will have a blast with whatever place you pick

I think that they are all very crowded. We booked an inland spot at Pirate Land a few years back and it was very tight to get into the spot with everyone parking on the road. This year we're getting an ocean front spot, should be easier to maneuver in.

Just left Pirateland yesterday. Been going for 15 years. Store my TT there. Going back for memorial day, and the 11 days over the 4th of july. not as crowded as ocean lakes, less rule oriented than lakewood. it does get very full all summer long.

We just got in from Tabor City Jelly Stone today for the Easter weekend. We usually stay at 934 in Pirateland which is in a nice shady spot in the middle of the park.

Bikester- Sent you a PM

Thanks everyone. We stated at Ocean Lakes and really enjoyed it. We had site K71 which was very roomy and close to the beach. Definitely want to go back.

Pirate land is the best. Ocean Lakes is a CG in a small city. Apartments, condos, shops etc. lake wood the sites are too small. The state park is too far from the ocean. Pirate Land is just right and they have the 10ft by 10ft sheds to put your bikes and grill under. It also serves as an outside room.

The "outdoor rooms" are a real plus at pirateland. Just remember they are only on the beach sites and not the inland sites. We purchased 3 mesh tarps to cover 3 sides of the room. Two 6X10 and one 6x14. They fit perfect and cut back on the wind and sun.
