Northern route into Breaks Insterstate Park

I'm planning a trip to Breaks Interstate Park (Kentucky/Virginia border) and I'm looking for someone that's had experience driving in from the north. Specifically, I would be coming Rt 23--Rt 460--Rt 80 into the park. I'll be towing a 39' Eagle 338RETS from Cincinnati and I'm just curious if there are any surprises. It doesn't look too bad from the satellite view. Thanks in advance!

We stayed there last year. Beautiful park.

From Rt 460/80 until you enter the park is a 2 lane road with a lot of curves. and a good size hill near the park (probably about 25 miles worth of small roads)

It's is doable, just make sure you fill up with gas while you are on 23. Not a lot of gas stations after that point. Take your time, there are still coal trucks on that road.

In the future maybe 6 more years there is a new road they are building from Pikeville, KY to the Breaks. The road is done, but the bridges are still being built.

In breaks now. The drive was nice once we got on mount parkway. Last bit is steep. I wouldn’t want to do it in the dark. I’m pulling a 24.2 bhws. It was no problem.

We had reservations there for this weekend but moved them to another weekend because of the weather.
Only bad loop is D. The hookups are on the wrong side.

Trip was great. River trail is no joke, lots of switch backs. I look forward to returning and exploring more. Be advised they are doing some electrical update and the area around the roads look rough because the are cutting down a bunch of trees.

You where not kidding. The power company has wrecked this place.
Mud on the road a lot of places my camper looks like I took it off roading. I had to wash the mud off my sewer connections.

Side note. Anyone that has camped here how many tv channel could you pick up. I am getting 4 pbs / ket stations.
