overnighting

This is the first time I've posted. I will be travelling to Edisto Beach South Carolina in a few weeks and I'm looking for a campground to spend the night somewhere off I-26 east of Columbia SC. Any suggestions?

welcome aboard. I am not familiar with that area.

If you have a fully self contained rig, you could stay in a Walmart parking lot. Or other businesses will allow overnight stays too, such as Cabellas.

For a single night overstay, its not to bad. Friend of mine has experienced a Cabella's that had power in the curbs for RVs.

Barnyard RV park - Lexington, SC (my 1st choice)

Sweetwater Lake CG - St Matthews, SC No reservations just show up

River Bottom Farms CG - Swansea, SC (2nd choice)

New Green Acres CG - Walterboro, SC (Closest to beach)

Edisto Beach SP is only a couple of hours from any of these. Make sure you have reservations. This is a busy park.

It is a great park. We only live 1 hour away from it and we have a hard time getting reservations. You have to plan way ahead due to the influx of folks fleeing cold in the winter. We have stayed in both but favor the end sites on the beach loop.

Edisto Beach water supply?

I have heard that the campground water supply is salty but biologically safe. Is that correct? Do you connect to your campsite hose bib or just run off your FW tank?

We will be staying on the beach. We have stayed at the oak campground when we couldn't get a spot on the beach. To get prime spots, reservations have to be made well ahead of time.
