Pechanga RV Resort - Temecula, California

We spent this past weekend camping at Pechanga RV Resort in Temecula. Had a great time! The place was very crowded, almost all spots were taken. Apparently there was a BBQ competition going on that we didn't know about until we arrived! We were in spot E-5 and we had a lot of fun. The people were all very friendly, and there is a shuttle that runs (on demand) 24 hours a day between the campground and casino. The campground is kid friendly to a point. There's no real playground, but there is a pool and it was seeing pretty heavy use with all the rigs there. Lots of folks walking their dogs and chatting with other campers. It's a resort-type campground, so you're parking on a concrete pad with grass in between the spaces. Not for those who crave off-the-grid rustic style camping. The casino is just like you'd find in Vegas, though they do allow smoking so I guess it's like you'd find in Vegas back in the day. I'm certainly no connoisseur but there are many wineries in the Temecula area for those who enjoy wine tasting. All in all it was a lot of fun.

This was the first weekend trip in the new rig, and this Saturday we're taking the trailer back to the dealer to get the list of issues we discovered fixed. Hopefully they can do it all in a week since we'll be heading to Reno in mid-July. Of course I'll report from that campground when we get there!

Here's a couple of pictures of the 24FBS all set up at our site:

We were in that area the summer of 2008 and spent one night at an RV park near by. They dinged us for $75 a night. I wish we would have stayed at Pechanga but my wife thought it would be noisy around the casino at night.

Surprisingly it's not that noisy at night and like I said, the park was packed. Between the park and the casino is what I believe to be the "physical plant" for the resort. Occasionally you hear a boiler blowing steam into the air, but it was a big "hiss" for a minute and that was it. People were very respectful of other folks at the park as well. My dog's snoring made more noise than anything outside the rig!

On the recommendation of our sales person we stayed at Pechanga in March of 2012 when we picked up our new rig. Very nice and a good place to bond with our new Pinnacle.

Your Pinnacle is beautiful! We'll step up to something like that in a few years, I have no doubt!
