Planning ca to oregon

Hey all. Any recommendations for a good trip from central California to the Oregon Coast? Looking for good campgrounds staying close to the coast as well as cool places to stop along the way.

We are doing the same thing late August. We have Ashland, Crater Lake, and Harris Beach State Park in 8 or 9 days....

I'll keep an eye on this thread for more ideas.
