Regular Sites & Favorite Sites
Where are everyone's regular camping sites and favorite camping sites...
(site name, and state)
We usually go to Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park in Burkesville, KY on the TN side. This is our favorite Camp Site.
Another one we go to frequently is Lillydale Campground in Allons, TN
This weekend we are going to Cove Creek Resort in Sevierville, TN for the first time.
Lets hear your opinions.....

Been to Cove Creek several times and we love it. Elvira's is a great restaurant if you have a mind to go. About 2-3 miles towards Townsend. Otherwise, Weir's Valley is the quiet side of the smokies away from all of the Seveirville/pigeon Forge craziness. Looks like Saturday you will have pretty good weather. Enjoy your trip!

My favorite sight is the next one we stop at. We don't typically go back, we enjoy traveling and seeing new places, and discovering new people and interesting local oddities.

Site 40 at Indian Cave State Park Nebraska. But there are no real bad spots so long as you're camping.

We haven't been doing this long enough to have a lot of favorites, but we spent several days last October at Panther Creeek State Park in northeastern Tennessee. The facilities were much nicer than the NC state parks. We will definitely return.

We have been visiting Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach since 2002. The kids love it, and so do us adults. Our regular local place is Jordan Lake State Park just outside Raleigh, NC.

We have a lot of favorites, but a great one that always sticks out is Valley of Fire SP, Nevada. There are three campgrounds, one with full hookups. The other two are boondocking, but some sites are amazing! If you have kids, they will absolutely love this place. Definitely avoid in the summer, as the name implies!!!

Some of our Favorites on our last year's adventure would include;
Zion Riverside RV Resort in Virgin, Utah - they even gave you a comp phone for your unit.
Wahweap RV Campground in Page, Lake Powell, Arizona It hit 90 degrees on May 1/2014 so it was nice they let the campers use the pool at their 5 star resort. Take tour to Antelope Canyon.
Living Forest Resort Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. Great central location for touring without the trailer.
Whistler's Campground near Jasper National Park in Alberta.
Fishing Bridge RV Park in centre of Yellowstone- full hook-ups.
Locally we like Letchworth State Park in Upper New York.
We will be heading to Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach this spring- can't wait to leave snow behind.

Here on the East Coast, our regular place to camp (close to home) is Camp Carr (YMCA owned) in Clinton Township, NJ. Super small on the river with electric and water. Or Colonial Woods in Upper Black Eddy, PA.
We make annual trips to:
Our favorite campground, Assateague Island State Park in Berlin, MD near Ocean City.
Lake Glory Knoebel's Amusement Park Campground in Elysburg, PA.
When our kids were younger, we loved Elk Neck State Park in MD.
Can't wait to camp in our new camper this Spring!!!

My favorites are as follows:
Jalama Beach north west of Santa Barbara, Ca.
San Simeon state park next to Hearst Castle on highway 1 near Cambria, Ca.
Rincon Parkway on highway 1 between Santa Barbara and Malibu.
I don't have any regular campgrounds. We try to go to new campgrounds every trip if possible.

Our favorite place is Cuivre River State Park, Troy, MO. the park is somewhat close to home, but pretty secluded. We usually go there three times a year and already have our trips booked for this year.

And of course, you got that FANTASTIC NANAIMO BAR (NB) recipe that put the city's name on the map! Regardless of the campground, so long as you have your cooktop and fridge, this is one you can make once you have some Bird's Custard Powder.

The last three years on the first week of August has been Casey's RV Park in Westfir, Oregon. Great location on the Williamette River but you have too book early. It's a mountain biking destination for us but there's Waldo Lake about 20 miles east for boating and swimming.
Our new favorite on the 2nd weekend of September is Mountain Valley RV Park in Tehachapi, Ca. Very quiet and next to the glider plane airport.
Already made reservations for both in 2018.

Our 'regular' campgrounds are the overnight ones on the various routes we take across the country to visit family. Mostly KOA's. Only a few KOA's that we have found that we would avoid, only due to being older and not accommodating larger rigs very well.
Sometimes we find some nice ones along the way as well. Like the Ambassador RV resort NW of Boise, ID, or the casino RV park east of Pendleton, OR. The RV park on the south side of Mountain Home, ID. Riverside RV Park in Sevierville, TN. The casino RV park south of Cortez, CO. Dolores River RV park north of Dolores, CO. Hacienda RV Park in Las Cruces, NM.
Some of these (like the casino parks) we haven't stayed at in more than 5 years so conditions may have changed.

Can't pick just one:
- Chewonki Campground in Wiscasset ME
- Country Acres, near Lancaster PA
- Joint Base Cape Cod - not much to it, but we love it
