Rocky Mountain National Park

We are headed to RMNP September 2021. We have a small class C. We plan on staying in the Estes park area.

1. Any recommendations on places to camp?

2. Should we rent a car to visit the park? Our RV is 24 feet.

3. Any recommendations on guided tours?

Thanks

Moraine Park is elk country. I have always camped there.
September is elk mating season.
Its wonderful to watch "The Dating Game" from your campsite or nearby.

Trail Ridge Road is a must. It goes to over 12,000 feet. The RV won't be happy. Even better is the Old Fall River Road. No way with an RV, Not sure RVs are allowed on Trail Ridge Rd

You may want to check this out...was in CO last week and heard that due to the crowds, RMNP is holding daily lotteries to control entry.

1. Check availability now. September will increase your chances of getting something. But just about all of our parks and campgrounds are full for the forseeable future. We live here and I've never stayed inside the park. I'm not sure they even have electric sites.

We stay in one of the handful outside of the park. Full hookups are available.
Those are pretty much all the same.

2. 24' RV will be fine to drive thru the park. But if you're in a car, it will be so much easier to stop, park, etc. We're in a 32' RV and about all we do is drive through from one end to the other. If we're planning on doing stuff in side the park, we drive up.
