Rocky Mountain NP Campgrounds

Looking for a campsite near the Rocky Mountain National Park. Doing some research it looks like maybe Winding River CG or maybe Elk Creek CG might be good? We would like at least water & electric. Any feedback on these or another you would recommend would be greatly appreciated. We plan to be there mid to late August.

we just left Golden Gate State Park and it was terrific. Had electric & water but no sewer. There is a dump station. Elevation was 9100 ft . Lots of tall pines separate each site for plenty of privacy. We plan to back on Thursday to charge our battery and take on water in preparation for camping in RMNP. If you go here, be sure to enter on Rt. 119 side. The other entrance is not RV friendly.

Thanks for the response! We plan to be at Golden Gate State Park mid- August. Camping without water hookup will be a first for us. I will certainly take your advice and enter on Rt. 119 side. We're 50' long with TV and TT. We'll be on site #20. BTW, I'm a little familiar with your neck of the woods - I grew up in Hamilton.

I didn't see any sites with water on their website. Are their certain sites with water?

We stayed at Elk Creek and loved the camp. Larger sites than some others around, semi secluded, and absolutely breath taking views. Iirc we have fhu.
