Rt 285 from Antero Junction to Denver Co

We are camping in the AHRA near Buena Vista, Co area in June. We are then camping @ Mountain Park in the Cache la Poudre area west of Ft. Collins. We are coming in from Colorado Springs and if possible, not want to go back out that way. Looking for any info on Rt 285 from Antero Junction to Denver & I-25. We have a fifth wheel and were wondering if possible to complete in that northeasterly direction without too many short steep climbs. I researched the route, and I can see that the route goes from an elevation of 7,100 ft. to passes that are over 10,000 ft. to back down to 6,000 ft. Also, if there are any other route recommendations from Buena Vista to Ft. Collins (i.e. Rt 24 to Leadville to I 70), we would be extremely grateful.

Have gleaned much info from the research & also found YouTube videos but no one with an RV.

Also, any Info on Campgrounds along that route as we have 2 days to complete the trip north
Thanks,
Bob
