San Jose CA to Grand Canyon

Heading to Grand Canyon in two weeks for a last trip of the season. Leaving from San Jose, CA to South Rim of Grand Canyon. Any suggestions on campgrounds along the way and places to visit near the Grand Canyon. We will be there for 7 days and have a dog with us.

Be prepared for the weather. Will be below freezing at night, they have had snow already. Keep your propane tanks full and enjoy Arizona. Be sure to take a ride down to Sedona, it's beautiful in the snow.

Enjoy your trip.

Yikes! Where has there been snow. We checked Grand Canyon and the extended weather forecast doesn't even call for rain. I do not want to be pulling a TT in the snow.

When is your trip?
There was one small snow storm less than 2 weeks ago. Otherwise conditions are back to normal right now.

We will be there from the 8th - 15th of November. We will be staying in the Canyon campground if we can get reservations.

It could be wetter and cooler than normal as we have had most of October. And the forecast is for a wetter than normal winter.

Happy trails!

You shouldn't have any problems. My family and I camped there over Thanksgiving week a couple years ago and it was practically empty....just the way we like it.
