Red face Smith Mountain Lake State Park in VA

I was the Camp Ground Host there in June and would like to provide some info. Situated on the second largest body of freshwater in Virginia, Smith Mountain Lake State Park is not just for water enthusiasts. In addition to a full range of water related activities, including swimming, fishing and boating, the park offers miles of hiking trails, cabins, camping, picnicking, a visitor center and interpretive programs.

The park is on the north shore of Smith Mountain Lake in Bedford County, approximately 40 miles from both Lynchburg and Roanoke, VA.

It's a great location for having fun. Plus, it's a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

My uncle has a single wide vacation home in penhook at Arrowhead campground. Its right on the water pretty close to vista point. We always took the boat up to bridgewater marina for the day to tucker the kids out. Haven't been in a few yrs there since we sold the boat to buy the jayco . I have so many great memories up there on that lake!
