Smith's Point Campground, Long Island, NY

We enjoyed a great week of camping at Smith's Point Campground here on Long Island. The weather cooperated somewhat. We had rain the first two days but then things cleared up and we had temperatures in the 50's and 60's during the day. The first picture is actually taken from about 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean which at that part of the day was totally obscured by fog.

I also had a chance to shoot some video while I was there. The first part is a short segment showing the Flight 800 Memorial which I've passed many times but did not realize what a work of art it is until seeing it from the air. There also a short segment showing the slice of barrier island that the campground is located on. I hope you enjoy it.

It looks like there will be some clouds but not a lot of rain. My wife loves this time of year with temps in 50' and 60's. No need for A/C and even the furnace didn't run that much so all you hear is the ocean. Enjoy!

BTW, this is the first I'm hearing about a new bridge. When is that suppose to happen?

I grew up staying there in a travel trailer right on the beach every summer with my aunt and uncle. Still have family up there but unfortunately I can't stand driving out on the island anymore.
