smoky mountains

We are planning a trip to the smoky mountains. we have 2 girls 7 and 10 and want a campground/rv park that has activities for the kids. Any suggestions?

great smokey jellystone was a great campground for kids. its a little bit outside of gatlinburg in cosby.

Cole 28r, that is a great campground. I stayed there as a kid in the early 80's. Swimming pool, game house, stream to sleep by with pop-up windows open, big Yogi to take pictures with and a Yogi mascot that toured the campground. Good times. Outside of Gatlinburg, not too far, not too close. www.greatsmokyjellystone.com We're planning a trip soon

smokey mtn camping

We stayed @ adventure bound campground, pool, waterslide, lots for young'uns to do.

Friends of ours always stay in Townsend, TN on the quiet side of the Smokies, as she puts it. It's near Cades Cove. The website rates haven't been updated since 2009, so don't know what's up with that!

Not sure if you are going through Branson Missuri on the way.. But if you do, I would say to stay away from the state park near Branson. The bathrooms were very dirty and had such an extreme mold problem that we ended up checking out after just one day.. As our kids tend to use the public restrooms and showers...
