St. Louis recomendations

Greetings all!
The boys and I will be in St. Louis for a few days and I need some ideas for a camp site. Clean, safe, and reasonably close to St. Louis. Fishing would be a plus for the lads. Generally, we prefer state/national park type camping over RV parks, but I am open to ideas. Electricity would be nice!

Feel free to chime in on sites to see in the area, too!

Stephen

Hello. There is a nice park run by the City of St. Peters that has a lake for fishing. Also bike/hiking trail (bikes can be rented). It is off 370 at Truman Blvd.

Last year we stayed at the Pacific KOA and it was a typical KOA. But then we had some friends who were camp hosts at Meramec Springs State Park so we stayed there for a few days last July and it was really nice. Full hook-ups and right along the river. Nice group of campers but I would avoid holiday week-ends. Also, if you go watch out for the low hanging branch (huge) just after the check-in booth. There was a sign for it but I almost hit it as we were leaving. I would stay here again.

Glad to hear about Babler. We're heading there this coming July for DW family reunion.
