State sticker problem

So I drive everywhere, NJ to Disney 3x, to MI and other places. Last year we tent camped in Acadia Natl. Park and the wet weather led to buying a travel trailer this year. So we got the state sticker map and put VA, SC, and WV because we took the rv there. But Maine and Acadia were so awesome we can’t decide to put it on our TT map because the rv wasn’t there but the whole family was. So do we put the the Maine sticker on? We are split 2-2 as a family.

I think it's really about who was there, not what was there with you. I would put it on the map, but that's just me. You shouldn't have to start over, with where you camped, just because it's a trailer instead of a tent.

There was a thread on "should we put a state sticker on the map, if we just drove through, and didn't stop to camp", a while ago. Whole different ball game.

I agree with JFlight it's about where you camped as a family and not what you camped in...

+1 to the others. On our map, it's about where we've been, not necessarily that the camper has been there.

Our goal is to visit all 50 states by the time my son is 18. Several of those states will not be visited in the RV. Some for obvious reasons (Hawaii), but some simply because of logistics. Maine, for example, would be a 5 day drive, one way. No way we can take that much time off work.

Just depends on your purpose for your map.

+2. It's where we camped with the family, not were we camped with this trailer or with a trailer rather than a tent at all. No need to start over when you buy a new unit. Our rule is we need to spend the night to add the state--drive through states do not count.

That said, I did not include where I camped as a kid with my parents or my map would be a whole lot fuller!

It's your map. You can do whatever you like.

Hold on there Wyka!

Did you review the Official Bylaws for using State Sticker Maps?

I wouldn't want you to be in violation with the "State Sticker Police".

Click the link below for the official state sticker bylaws:

Four days from McAllen to Acadia. We've made the trip twice from McAllen and once from San Antonio. Worth it if you ever have the time.

Day one is just getting out of Texas, after that there states fly by the closer you get.

Thanks for the laugh, what a great thread. My answer is, why are you placing the sticker on the map, is it for you, or is it for "others." If it is for you, then you get to choose what you want to do. If it is for others, ask yourself what message you are trying to deliver and then choose you action. Bottom line, you are the only one that really cares or matters as what is on your own vehicle.
