Successful 7 day shakedown trip in the 28BHS to Lake Erie!! (Pic Heavy)

Well we made it out in the brand new 28BHS to East Harbor Ohio, it was a great trip and I was pretty happy about how everything turned out including the 4 hour pull to the campground. I had one little situation that was funny after the I figured out what was going on....... Right before the trip I had oversize tires put on the truck so I used the programmer to update the tire diameter which automatically adjusts the speedometer. Well I apparently entered the the wrong tire diameter upon getting onto the highway I noticed the truck was revving pretty high and seemed to be struggling to hit 55 mph.... Had a little bit of a panic situation where I though maybe my tranny was was slipping or it wasn't shifting into OD. Then I began to get annoyed at the cars out on the highway that were doing 40 MPH and wouldn't speed up.... after a few minutes I remebered I had reprogrammed the truck so I grabbed my phone and opened the speedo app and to make a long story short I somehow programmed the wrong tire size so when the speedo was showing 55 I was actually running about 77 MPH !!! I got that figured out and the rest was smooth sailing.

The weather ended up being great for all but one day of the trip and I was able to get out on my friends boat and do a ton of fishing. We also got to run around and see the sights, do tons of hiking, biking, and overall just had a heck of a good time!! After camping for a few years in the the 19BH the 28BHS felt huge and I enjoyed every minute of it. The one day that it rained it was great to be able to spread out watch some movies, catch a nap and have some elbow room. At the end of the trip I learned one new thing about the camper.... It has a tank flusher on it! How I missed that while looking at it and during the walkthrough I will never know?? Now that I'm home I am going to dig through the literature and figure out how to use it then try it out this week. Here are a few shots of the great time we had this weekend Hope you enjoy!

Looks like an awesome trip! I visited "The Shoe" about 12-13 years ago when Your Buckeyes played host my beloved NCSU Wolfpack. That was probably one of the best football games I'ver ever personally witnessed. The game went to triple OT. When the marching band played the NC State Fight Song before the game I was impressed. Then at the end The Buckeye Fans gave a standing ovation as "My Team" exited the field. Very Classy!!! That was a wonderful experience. Bet you guys don't extend that courtesy to the MU Wolverines!

OSU has a fan in NC!

Glad you enjoyed your first trip! We love East Harbor! By chance, did you go to the beach inside the state park? We were there this time last year and they had started building the new shower/bathhouse at the beach. Just wondering if it was finished yet. The portolets were no fun!
