Question Thanksgiving - East Coast???

Hi All,
Looking for suggestions of a great place to go camping for Thanksgiving. We are in NJ and could probably travel as far West as West Virginia and as far South as Northern NC. Any ideas of good places that are open with full hookups?

Thanks

If you are a history buff we camped here http://www.thecoloniesrvandtravelpark.com/
last year for Thanksgiving. Fort Monroe is awesome and the park is within driving distance of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The Colonies is a small RV park right on the old base of Fort Monroe. The Fort dates back to pre civil war.

Probably booked up though by now for Turkey day weekend but ya never know.

Yea, that park looks nice. Going to have to check that one out. Have some friends that just moved back to that area (active duty Navy) that have a TT also. We are due for a visit.

Other ideas- Some of the Maryland State parks stay open all Winter but have only electric hookups. The private campgrounds here on the shore with full hookups close the end of October. Stayed at Chippokes SP near Surry Va one year for Thanksgiving but they have no sewer hookups. B loop is new and nice. The need for sewer hookups can be a limiting factor late in the season. Have a blue tote tank? That would increase your options......

The Capitol KOA and Cherry Hill neary DC should have full hookups available as long as the temperature doesn't turn to cold. Both campgrounds are nice and serve as solid base camps for exploring Washington DC!

Well, this is what we are planning...

Boondocking on the beach in Texas, dutch oven turkey cooking, pies, stuffing, the works....

First time try at this, it can't be all bad, we will be camping!

We've decided to hit OBX for Thanksgiving. We're headed to Camp Hatteras in Waves, NC. GPS shows about 9 hours to get there...so I'll figure 11 with stops. Should be great. Thanks for all the help.

Bikester, you'll love Camp Hatteras!! It's a beautiful campground. If you love water filled sunsets, go for the sound side! With the large sand dunes, you can't see the ocean. We went for Easter and it was great.
