To Camp Ground owners-

This is a general comment to ANY camp ground owners visiting this site: Marketing hint- As a prospective customer, I want to see pictures of your campsites and a few of the facilities and landscape. I really do not care about fish caught, halloween parties, or kids riding their bikes in the road. As a matter of fact, if you don't show me pictures of the campsites, you MUST have something to hide!

Agree. A couple of the places we frequent post pics of each site, including several of the CA State parks. If a budget strapped State can figure that out, then so should others.

google Earth works great, and you can see every site and access to each.

Have you seen campsitephotos.com? It is no substitute for good photos provided by the owner, but I have found it useful.

This may be a bit off topic, but do campgrounds offer a "Quiet Section"?

I got so turned off by campfire singing to midnight. Followed by pre-teen whining at 7:00AM.

A place for us middle-aged empty-nesters that settle down just after sunset, go to sleep around 10:00PM and don't get moving until close to 9:00 the next morning.

Google Earth is the Crystal Ball that sees campgrounds for what they really are...I love looing at a campground website, then going to Google Earth to see how different it is.

I'm with you, where is the no outside television or radio blasting section. We go camping to get away from it all, some of these people bring it all with them.

Photos of how far apart the sights are would be nice.

Another plug for Google Map/Earth. Some public campgrounds even have google streets. I've picked many, many sites this way.

I totally agree! I've been doing research for campgrounds on the upcoming vacation and there were several campground websites that fit to a Tee whet you said. I WANT TO SEE WHAT YOUR CAMPSITES LOOK LIKE - THAT'S WHY i AM LOOKING AT YOUR CAMPGROUND!

Sorry for the rant.

I like seeing the campground sites (seen several state parks) that actually show a picture of each campsite showing pad size, fire pit location, shading from trees and how close your neighbors are.

Private CGs run the gamut from really quiet, state park style places, to what I call party parks. It's all about the "tone" the owner sets for the place.

Use campgroundreviews.com. Not only to do research, but others would like to know your experiences both good and bad.

I've posted many reviews out there myself and don't hesitate to highlight truly bad CGs.

9:00 am? Half the day is gone by then!

What a great idea-a "quiet" section. And in addition to the outside TV's, loud music you can add barking dogs. We're right next door to someone that has 3 Beagles in a penned area outside, one of which barks enough for the other two. Glad we're leaving in the morning.

I didn't say sleep until 9:00. We enjoy quiet sharing time between waking up and getting going.

KOA's have quiet hours from 10pm to 7am If a problem occurs there are phone numbers for after hours response. If you do your research before your trip, you will find what others say about a particular campground. How responsive management is to issues etc. We have never really had a problem with noise, but, we have chosen to not stay at some parks because of posts. We also do not go to parks without onsite personal available. Good luck..
