Today is the day - Off to Disney for Christmas
I'm leaving my home base in a couple of hours heading to the Orlando area to spend time with my daughter and her family. We will be going to Disney for Christmas. Unfortunately we didn't decide to do this until a couple of months ago so Ft. Wilderness was out. We will be at Tropical Palms which is a nice park and not far from Mickey.
It is 27 degrees here right now and I'm ready to head south.
Things left to do prior to pulling out:
Pull in two slides (bed slide is already in)
Unhook external propane tank
Unhook shore power
Hook up
Wait until temp is above freezing which it will be by the time I get the first items done.
Southbound I will be very shortly, but can't start until this cup is gone. It is cold out there.

Day one ended up after 255 miles (this was my original plan) at Flying J in Midway, FL. I haven't spent the night at a Flying J in a long time and this one was very quiet last night. They do have the RV parking area completely separate from the big rigs and I didn't hear a thing all night until the 45' MH next to me fired up about 4:30am. I was almost awake anyway so it didn't matter. Today I'm off to the Tampa area for a few days prior to meeting my daughter and her family at Tropical Palms next Saturday.
Since I have finished my second cup of Community Dark Roast coffee, I'm walking over to Denny's for a bite of breakfast.

What is with the temperature in Hudson, FL? I arrived yesterday for the second leg of my trip and it is 34 degrees this morning? At least the forecast is for warmer weather for the next several days.
Total trip distance 481 miles, moving average speed 51.1, 12.3 mpg.
Now to relax for a while.

Have a great time!
Sorry to hear about Fort Wilderness... last time we went we were told that they were full, THEN, we called AAA. They were able to get us a great spot (I suspect that they had some reserved for members). Not only that but they were about 800.00 cheaper than any other prices that we saw and they got us free park hopper passes, and got us 2 extra days free. The AAA travel folks are great!
Have a safe and fun trip!!
