It looks like a beautiful area, just google Gilbert Ray Campground / Tucson Mountain Park. Its pretty basic, 30 amp only, no full hookups.

If you have time don't miss Old Tucson. Plan on an all day event with reenactments and different buildings. It's an old movie set with 400? westerns filmed there.

Jew just returned from Tucson, stayed at the Lazy Days KOA. Like all KOA's it was a bit $$$ but very nice. It's also huge. We enjoyed Teresa's Mosaic Restaurant (twice). Tombstone is close and a bit touristy but fun. Enjoy and safe travels!

If you like a place that's not too fancy and has a lot of fun stuff to do and fun people to be with, this is the place.

Yes its a state park, part of Saguaro N.P. They have a central dump station, electric at your site, but you will need to fill up with water as there are sporadic water spigots at the foot of some sites otherwise go to the dump station area & fill up there as they have multiple water spigots.

Catalina State Park. Fantastic view of the mountains. Level sites. Very clean. Great wildlife. If you like rodeos, the Tucson Rodeo was great. We went there on Sunday.

We stayed at Gilbert Ray park too.. Beautiful and in the middle of lots of vegetation.. Has electric and water at a fill station. There are no showers
But to stay amid all the saguaro in full bloom in April was wonderful

too late for the OP.
We loved the Arizona- Sonora Desert Museum next door.
