Vicksburg MS

We just returned from Vicksburg where we stayed 4 nights in the Ameristar RV park (associated with the casino). Most residents were full-timers or overnighters. Several of the pads (all are concrete) were far from level. It's an OK stop for the price ($21 I think) but not great. It is just off I-20 (far enough there's no traffic noise-there are train tracks nearby tho) so it is a very convenient location

Spent a couple days in the Vickburg area and explored the civil war memorial. That is very impressive. Vicksburg as a town is a dump. We're not Casino people so that was not something we were attracted to. CG's in the area are few and far between. We ended up staying at a private CG about 25 miles east just off the interstate. Very nice, quiet, and about $30/nite.

Did I mention that Vicksburg is a dump. Lots of slums and run down areas. A few historic neighborhoods buts that about it.
