What to do in/near Bryce Canyon

We’re going to be staying at Ruby’s Inn for a week in mid-July. Besides the local attractions within Bryce Canyon, are there any other day trips that we should plan? We love sightseeing and modest activities, but no long/strenuous hikes.

We were just there. Definitely worth taking a day trip over to Zion!

Edit: After our hike, my teenage daughters made me drive them an hour further west to get drinks at Swig. That was the highlight of their trip...I've never heard of it, nor did I get anything.

I got lucky the time I visited Bryce Canyon as the rodeo was taking place just outside of Ruby's Inn. It was an incredible experience

Visit Kodachrome State park. Awesome views, short hikes and within 20 minutes of Bryce. Great if you have dogs as this park allows them on any trail.
