yellowstone in winter

visited Yellowstone last Monday. mammoth campground is always open and a few sites are plowed. one bathroom is heated. second picture is mammoth campground. most of the fire pits are buried. general store is open in mammoth and road is plowed to cooke city from mammoth. otherwise one is skiing or snowshoeing or snowmobiling or riding in on a snowcoach.

I'm taking you did a day trip. Also it looks like no one brings an army of snowshovelers with their RV.

You'd think they could spend a few more minutes backplowing..

There was a photo posted on Facebook yesterday of the Lower Falls.... amazing the way the mist creates a glacier at the foot of the falls.

its a beautiful place to visit in the winter and a lot less crowded. I basically had the road to myself in the morning heading in. wasn't till late morning there were a few cars on the road.
