Yogi Bear's Jellystone Parks

Any one camp at any of these?

Pro's/Con's?

Was it worth the money ?

We've stayed at 2 here in TX...Fredericksburg & Burleson. They were ok...the kids had a good time with all the activities...but we've never been back to either of them...I did think they were a little over priced. That's my $.02...

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Parks

We go to one that’s close to us once or twice a year. If you have kids, I think it is worth it. The one by us has big water slides, kiddie slides, lazy river, 2 pools, mini golf, fishing pond, and other activities for the family. They have a pretty nicely stocked camp store so if you run short on adult beverages, you can buy it there instead of leaving the park.

Edit: the park has gotten a little more expensive than it used to be when we first started going 4-5 years ago

I went to a Jellystone Park years back near Syracuse NY for a few days. It was a nice campground, except the whole time there I felt like I was in Stalag 13.

Kinda a funny story. At 4:00AM one morning my beagle woke me up because he had to go pee pee. So I get up, take him outside to walk around the loop and have him do his business. Then all of a sudden this Sgt, Schultz type character sneaks up on me, shines this blinding spotlight and yells “halt!". Apparently there was a dog walk about a quarter mile away for dogs to do their business. It was too late as good old Ozzie already watered a tree.

We’ve never been to one but are taking the 4 and 5 year old grandkids to one in OK next week for 4 days. We’re hoping there are a lot of things to keep them busy as well as getting them started on camping.

This was our 14th year at Jellystone in Cherokee N.C. in the Smoky Mountains. We meet up with six other camping families each Memorial Day and for 10 days each July 4th. We all have prime river spots and the host gives us first pick for the same site every year. I have been on the same site for 13 years now. The host are great and the park has lots of activities for the kids. Problem is since Legacy purchased then the prices have gone up every year. They took our good sams discount away for holidays and this year they said since the 4th was on wed. it was a 10 day holiday from Fri. before the 4th till the Sun. after the fourth. Cost us $70.00 night for 9 nights. Other problem is Legacy won't spend any money for gravel so the roads at bad when it rains. Our site has lost over 10 ft from the river washing it out over the 13 years. In a couple years I'll walk out my door and fall in the river. Our problem is you can't find 7 nice river spots to p/u and move on holiday weeks.

Thank you all for the input.
Just wanted to know if it is worth the high cost.
My DW and I were thinking about taking our 3 kids 16, 15 and 12 there for 4 nights. I see they have a deal stay 3 and get the 4th free?

We stayed at the Madison FL facility a couple of years ago.
The water park, lazy river, slide was fun for grands (and PaPa).
The activities for kids was enjoyable for them.
On the negative side: Price, I thought too high; the sites are TOO close together (I understand why, the closer sites mean more sites which mean more $$ per night); I did not care for the constant Four wheelers and golf carts traversing everywhere and with kids driving them.

My .02 worth. Over all good for kids, but not for MaMa and me. [emoji41]

Quarryville. It's beautiful there with big sites, mulched gardens and stone sites. Very level. We didn't even need to level our camper side-to-side. We're regulars.

We stopped to look at Jellystone in Madison FL. Some of our friends were WorkCamping there, so we thought about staying there.

As some have mentioned above, it is Expensive enough for the site alone... and there is an additional fee for just about anything you might want to do there too. It is very Kid friendly, not very dog friendly and not wallet friendly.

Definitely a good destination if you have kids!!!

I see you’re from Harrisburg so probably considering Jellystone Williamsport or Quarryville I assume.

We just got back from Williamsport. It’s very neat and clean and lots to do for kids. A lot of rules but very little enforcement which could be good and bad. We’re dog lovers / owners but guy next to us had dog off lead all the time bragging about his E collar obedience etc and ignorant for doing so. Employees drove by numerous times and said nothing. Disaster waiting to happen. I digress..

Overall very nice place but in my opinion they’re quite expensive but there are a lot of amentiites like pools, splash areas and slides that you must use to get money’s worth. Just pricey for that quick weekend trip as it’ll approach $200+. Unlike some of the others mentioned it’s all inclusive on price and amenities.

We’ve visited the Waller TX one several times and last time we decided was our last. The g’son (then 10) was out growing what they had to offer and was getting bored with their attractions. The park seems to be attracting the “weekend party” crowd more and more and we were getting tired of rude party atmosphere. My son described it as “idiots staying up late to howl at the moon”.

Thanks,
That is the one we are thinking of trying.

Agreed, we go to Quarryville many times a year. clean big well maintained sites. worth the money for us. our son always has something to do. Hagerstown MD Yogi has the same owners as the quarryville yogi. Both are nice in my opinion.

Heading over to Quarryville in about 10 days. I always find myself there once a year. Often my college buddy will bring his family along and rent a cabin close to where I’m set up.

I stayed at the Jellystone park in Canyon Lake, TX three times over the past few years (young daughter at the time). I won't go again. First, the price has skyrocketed to stay there. Second, the sites are stacked on top of each other. Our pic nick table was right next to the adjoining sites sewer drain. Third, they have converted many RV sites into permeant cabin sites making it more difficult to get a RV site if you wanted one.

On the positive side-they have a lot of activities for the younger kids, indoor and outdoor pool, splash are, jump pillow, paint ball, pedal carts to rent etc.
