Yosemite with a long trailer

Hi Guys,

We will have friends with kids from overseas visiting us next year. I am planning a few days in Yosemite over the Labor Day weekend 2018. I know how challenging is getting a camp site in Yosemite. I know, Labor DAy weekend adds complexity.

Provided that we are able to reserve one of the few sites in the Valley that are big enough for my trailer (33 ft tongue to bumper):

- among those few big enough sites in North Pines or Lower Pines, are there any better / worse sites?

- do you have any tips in relation to bringing the trailer to Yosemite (we will be traveling from SF Bay Area, so we will take Hwy 140) - any other tips?

- our kids will be 2 and 4 at that time – would prefer to avoid any less secure sites, e.g. closer to water, etc.

- we would be a part of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) – how strict are rangers in enforcing 6 ppl max per site?

If we are not able to secure a trailer site, we will go with tents.

Thanks a lot!

get 2 sites if you can... if you get caught with 2 over the "limit" you can be asked to leave completely... chances are you will be just fine... but if you can get 2 sites together that is a better for you and the ranger won't have to be a hard "ss"... or someone might complain... It happens...

enjoy your trip good luck get on the site as soon as you can I think it is 6 months out you can start booking.. book day one.. when it opens on the website and get each day at a time.. it isn't easy

Have fun!

The road up there is kinda 'tight' for big rigs. Just take your time.

For your size rig you should be fine. We noticed a ton of rental Class C's up there.

Are you also looking at Upper Pines? I think they have more RV sites than Lower and North.
