2017 16XRB first trip

Finally got a chance to get out with my new (for me) 2017 16XRB. Did a dual 6v battery and 200W solar upgrade prior, and was excited to see how it performed. If you have not added Solar yet, dont hesitate. We spent 4 days in the High Sierras, partial shade, and did the usual lights, refer, multiple showers, and some TV/DVD use and never did the batteries get below 3/4 charge. I am certain I wont have to be the dreaded "generator guy" in camp, ever. What a great time, I wont miss tent/car camping one bit.

Great to hear you had a positive experience and are having fun. With your solar and battery bank as long as you don’t abuse it is sufficient. Another step you could do so that you never have to be the dreaded generator guy is add in a 20A DC-DC charger. That way if there’s ever a cloudy day or if you need an extra boost on top of the solar you can run the truck to get a good charge.

I run 400 watts of solar, 20A DC-DC charger and have a generator with a 2000watt inverter all with 2 6v batteries. May consider 4 6v batteries but have to find a way to store them.
