I am in the same boat trying to find ethanol free fuel. The closest station that I'm aware of having it is 30 miles away from my house. If I am heading in that direction, I will pick up a can full. But around home, there are no options.

That sucks, I have a choice of 4 stations all with-in a 2-4 minute drive!
Why is it so scarce down there?

I can’t figure that either. Sure, we have a VERY healthy agricultural economy here, so you’d think it would be available. And we’re relatively rural.
But ethanol free is the very rare exception. There are only a handful of stations within a 50 mile radius of me. And many of those are marinas.
According to one website, the closest non-corn gas is about 30 miles from me? Maybe a 45 minute drive on a good day with no traffic?
So ya, I have to depend on stabilizer and frequent use (to keep fuel from sitting too long) to prevent problems. Heck, I’m getting pretty darn antsy because it’s been a little over a month since I parked my rig. No stabilizer in the fuel, and I need to exercise the engine, transmission and generator. I didn’t plan on it being this long before I could get back to it...

I can explain it either. Just as scarce as can be.

I switch everything over to pure gas at the end of the season. I get mine from HyVee gas stations that sell premium (yup , premium prices ) without alchohol.
I then make run my tanks down, fill with pure gas and make sure it has cleaned out all the ethanol gas.
I run my weed whip and push mower dry. I never get around to it on my tractor or chain saw or generator.
No problems so far!

I use a product called K100 in all my gas engines, including the truck and car. Also Sta-bil for the small engine fuel cans. I watched a demo of what it does in contaminated fuel, and the stuff works. There's one for gas, and one for diesel fuel. Knockin' on wood, so far no ethanol related troubles.

Don't solely go by that list. I can tell you that the list only shows 1 station in the city I live in. I know of 12 stations that carry ethanol free gas, and this is a big city, so I am sure there are a lot more stations. When I stop to get gas, I always just look at the signs on the pump to see if they have ethanol free. Around here, it seams to only come in premium.

Yup, been looking for years. It's simply not here that I can reasonably find.

If you need to find out if fuel has ethanol in it, its easy to check. All you need is a small graduated syringe and a bit of water.

I thought ethanol content was required to be posted in a conspicuous place directly on the pump?
I mean, I realize the statement reads " MAY contain up to XX% Ethanol", but I assume that to mean "this fuel contains XX% ethanol".
Around here, if there is no ethanol content statement on the pump, I assume it to contain ethanol. And typically will not fuel up at that station because it's going to be an extremely small, independent station. No that I'm against those operators, but I don't necessarily trust that I'd be getting the best fuel.
The stations where I would feel comfortable fueling have specially marked pumps stating that the fuel is ethanol-free. The closest such station I've found so far is a Wal-Mart in an adjacent town, but there are a few Buccees around Houston that I've seen that have specially marked ethanol-free pumps.

For those of you running the STA-BIL brand fuel stabilizer in ethanol gas, make sure you are running the STA-BIL 360 Marine Ethanol Treatment and Stabilizer vs the conventional STA-BIL. I've used the STA-BIL marine treatment for years, with great results.
