Mt Rushmore

We’re getting ready to spend about a week at Mt Rushmore. We have a reservation at the KOA for the week, but we might arrive in the area a day or two early before our reservation.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for an easy to get to boondocking site nearby for us to spend the night or two before our reservation? We have a 32 foot Class C and will be towing our Wrangler.

Thanks!

Boondocking, no. But Custer has a number of places you might get two nights in, especially if you arrive mid-week.

2X on Custer. We stayed at the KOA there a couple years back and found it to be excellent.

We should be getting into the Black Hills area on Wed and our KOA reservation starts on Fri. We’re coming from the west so I’m hoping we don’t have to go too far out of the way to hang out before our reservation.
