Yeah, I was thinking I probably would end up needing a second one in parallel, and was a bit miffed a few months after I bought the one when I saw a deal for two with parallel kit for 1k.

I'm w/you and solar... I have a Honda 2000 fo 7-8 years, but also have had 2 50 watt solar for fifteen years... The solar did its thing during the day and I'd use the Honda as needed at night....or ??....Istill have the Honda and I just got two new 100 watt solar flat panels so my bases are covered... 2 panels charge controller and shipping for about $150. Have not decided if I'm gonna mount on roof or leave on ground...I'm happy there is a lot of good stuff out there check it all out Happy camping

I vote for the Champion also. I own a 3500 watt that built my cabin, starts everytime on one to two pulls. It is almost 10 years old, lives in the unheated shop and is dead reliable.

Not what I wanted but picked this 3500 inverter up today with 8 hrs. on it for $400. I only camp with full hookups so it's for emergency use only.

Good score on the generator

That's what I wanted was a duel fuel since I have 3-40 lb tanks and would not need to carry a can of gas, but for the price I will give it a try.

I still haven't purchased one. I've been looking for a year probably and every time I am ready to pull the trigger, something else pops up.......clutch for the truck......medical bill.......etc.

I have a DIY 70 watt solar panel. I like it portable most of the time we try to park the TT in the shade in the summer. Solar is not very good in the shade.

Update on the Ryobi 2300 inverter generator I mentioned earlier on this thread, just checked with the contracted service center I took it to to be checked out for what I thought was unreasonable overload occurrences and, not too surprisingly, they gave it a load test and found no problems. The technician said it's normal and expected for these to lose about 30% of their power output at higher elevations, e.g., the 8000 - 10,000 feet I like to camp at here in Colorado and Wyoming, and that, therefore, I cannot rely on it to successfully power even a microwave without overloading. So, that's pretty disappointing, but, presumably, a fact of life with these things. I viewed a video a bit ago in which a guy compared this model to the Honda 2200i and said the Honda apparently has a substantially larger displacement motor, i.e., about 120 cc's vs. 90-something for the Ryobi. Haven't verified that, but maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, something to consider for anyone looking at this class of generator. Mine will likely power a TV along with lights, exhaust fans, water pump, etc. while recharging the battery, but that's about all I can rely on it for, it appears.

That's kinda the reason I'm not rushing to mount the pannels on the roof 'cus I like them where I can move then into the sun an leave the TT in the shade.... U know maybe I just made up my mind but what about security??? I'll leave them down so I can move them as needed... Although I worry about theft but... Dang it's Always Something....Comon Feb. we wanna go camping we're considering going to Needles/ AZ for 3-4 weeks...

Propane tank is easy to fill... You watch someone else do it for you . I took 3 empty tanks last time, dropped them off with the guy who was already filling someone else's. I went in and paid for 3 tanks full of propane and he was about finished when I got back out there. I don't have to fool with irritating gas cans or the smell of spilled gas.

I ended up returning the Ryobi for a HF Predator, but I'm sure I've read about high altitude kits for other generators. Any luck seeing if there's something similar for the Ryobi?

Has anyone tried the Microair Easy start 364? Seems to be able to start and run a 13.5 or 15k AC unit with only a 2000w peak inverter generator

The MicroAir unit is well known and loved by many on this forum. I don't have it personally (yet) but those who do have had very good reviews of its performance.

This option seems way better then buying 2 generators. I think I might get one next spring before we head down south
