Trimetic 2030 and SC-2030 Charger
So I'm out camping and my trimetic is stating 12.2 volts but 94% charged? What's up with that? 12.2 is roughly 60%, isn't it? Any of you guys got any clues?

For me, over the past couple weeks, I have been dropping to 12.0v and reading @ 80%. It was a reflection of reduced capacity in my batteries, we're off to get a couple 6v golf cart batts this weekend. Yours may need checked and topped off. If they're even maintainable, mine were not.

They don't go by the cut off at 12.0V rule.. most of them read charge down to 9.8 before cutoff..

First Boondocking trip
I am building a solar panel system using TM2030 and SC2030. Tested it in the yard the other day, worked really well. I purchased two Trojan 6v 105-RE's and a couple 85 watt panels. Built a frame for the panels, and connected with 12 foot long 6 AWG wires from the controller to Panels. Testing showed about 9+ Amp-Hr and topped off the battery to 100% on a sunny day. Set P1 at 14.4, but I may increase it to 14.8 as I monitor the charging. Trojan liquid batteries can take some overcharging very well, and get more amps out of it too as a result. I will set up Panels next to trailer facing the sun, a little inconvenient but more reliable than flat panels on the roof, and I can avoid shading. Going on a long two week trip with mostly boondocking in a couple weeks. I'll collect data and report how it went, anxious to see if I failed or succeeded in the design and setup!

Nice work on the solar and welcome to the boondocking club! I love my solar beyond explaining. Check out our solar sub-group, it's slow around there but we pop in from time to time and lots of info to find. My charger pours in about 14.8 first thing in the morning too, you can hear the batteries boiling then it evens out to 13.6 for a while and then floats to 12.8. I keep a good eye on my water and all is good.

I am not familiar with the Trimetric products, but they seem to be well regarded, so I assume it is working correctly.
Are you reading the voltage under load? You cannot estimate state of charge if the batteries are (or recently have been) under a load or charge for that matter. I assume the trimetric is basing its SOC on the amp-hrs added/removed from the battery.

+1 to the above. Make sure you aren't under load when reading voltage.
You can also look at the amp-hours from full setting and see what that is saying.
Was the Trimetric ever programmed specifically for your battery? The % full reading is based on a battery capacity in Ah that you have to set. If this is not set properly the % full will not calculate properly as it is based off the Ah from full that has been recorded.
The facotry default setting for Ah is 220 so if your batteries are not 220Ah you will need to adjust it.

Sorry for not getting back to you guys. I did indeed setup all information the best I could from what I got from the battery specs sheet. My particular batteries were a couple of 90 amp rack type batteries used in remote radio towers. I initially set it up to have 180 amp hours total, all last year.
This past weekend, I went ahead and reprogrammed all parameters and putting 90 amps instead of the 180 into P3. According to Bogarts troubleshooting guide, this will give you a more accurate indication of "usable" battery. With that being said, doesn't that P3 number effect the charging properties of the SC-2030? I'm assuming not, due to the fact that you can easily reset the % FULL screen at any time.
Any professional TM-2030/SC-2030 users in here that could chime in?

I will preface this by saying I am far from an expert but I do use the TM2030 and SC2030.
The manual states that the P3 setting that you changed only influences the "Battery % Full" display. By only inputting half of your battery capacity you would be reading from 100% to 0% empty(12.0volts) correct? Rather than just showing 50% as empty?
Even though the manual states that the P3 setting doesn't affect anything else it also states that P2 is reliant on the P3 setting. This is one of the parameters that determines if your battery is full.
If I understand it correctly, by reducing your battery capacity artificially you could overcharge your battery as the amps has to drop to a lower level before the SC2030 will consider it charged.
Looks like P10 "charging efficiency" has an effect on the % battery full as well.
If you are still having issues you could reset it to factory parameters and try programming it again. It isn't the most user friendy interface and it is probably easy to get something wrong.
