My first work camping summer..

I just got accepted by Parks Canada. I will be campground hosting for 2 weeks mid June at Kicking Horse campground in Yoho Ntl park. Then for 2 weeks end of July at Mosquito Creek on the Icefield Highway (38 km N of Lake Louise) then again at Mosquito Creek for 2 weeks the start of September..
Anyone near there at those times pop in and say Hi

I'm working this summer. Or at least hosting in Panama City Beach, Florida. This will be my second summer at the same park. I have been here 3 weeks so far and am scheduled until early September.

I was there several years ago, our Scout Troop camped there. Nice place. We also climbed one of the nearby Peaks of Otter.

What does the job of a host involve?

Well for me it means a few walks around the campground during the day... answering questions about the area (info provided).. I have to be available 4 hours a day 5 days a week for this... I am also provided with a 2 way radio in-case of emergency..

First of all, you have to agree to stay for a minimum time. Probably a month. Sometimes, it's longer such as the case with Edatlanta. Next, you will probably get a job description. It could be anything such as described above or manning the contact station or working on projects. You will most likely know what's expected before you agree to take the job. Also, you'll know what is provided such as sewer. For me, that's a requirement.:hihi:

They wanted a minimum 2 week commitment... I took 3-2 week slots over the summer at 2 different campgrounds.

4 weeks done 2 left to go in Sept... Had a Cougar (no not the human kind) in the CG for a week but it was scared of people so there were no problems... when it moved on a bobcat came in and took a few squirrels to lunch...
