Xantrex Statpower ProSine 1000 Watt inverter

I have this unit pre-wired with a male and female plug. Plug the male into an outlet on your TT and plug into the female a multiple-outlet strip for your entertainment center. The unit automatically will switch from AC shore power to inverting your DC power into AC when the auto-switch detects disconnect from shore power. Nice inverter to start with for those looking for a way to power basics items such as laptops, TV's and other sensitive electronics that require a full pure sine wave. Remote can be removed from the main frame and placed anywhere in your TT. You connect the remote with a standard RJ11telephone cord. Pics show the remote installed in my TT and other pics of the unit itself. Price: $350 + your choice of shipping cost options.

Once you plug the male into the TT outlet will all 120v outlets be live or just the outlet strip? I think I am confused on how to wire up.

The opposite side of the inverter has a negative & positive post that you connect to your batteries. I would recommend using at least 2 AWG wire (standard battery cables).

Ideally you want to locate any inverter, as close to your batteries as possible. I actually had this under the foot of our bed about 6 feet from the batteries. Today I have my new inverter just on the other side of the wall separating the batteries from the inside of our TT.

Next we ran an extension cord from the inverter up to our entertainment center and there we plugged in an outlet strip. We plugged in our TV, DirecTV DVR, DVD player and surround sound system, as well as some cell phone chargers. All of that is plugged into the outlet strip and will operate off of your battery bank when you turn on the inverter.

If you also run another extension cord from the male plug of the inverter into an outlet in the TT, then while you are using either a generator or shore line power, the AC power will pass through the inverter and up to the outlet strip you have plugged into the female side. This is an auto-switch and prevents you from having to switch manually. You do not have to unplug your entertainment center from the inverter and plug into the TT outlet to receive shore line AC power.

Once this is all set up. You can travel and if one day you are in the KOA using shore power, the entertainment center will work fine using the KOA campground AC power. If the next day you are at a dry camp, you can turn on the inverter to use your batteries to power the entertainment center.

Does that make it any clearer or is it still confusing?

This will only power up what you have plugged into the female cord. This is NOT a whole home inverter set up.

The reason this one is for sale is because I just installed a whole home inverter/charger and replaced both this inverter and my stock IOTA converter. That cost was close to $2,500 for what I did. Here is what that set up looks like. It is a far cry from the simple set up I had before. http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/album.php?albumid=529

This simple set up whets the appetite for the whole home set up. :-)

Retails new for $800.00 -advertised on line new for $570.00

I'd go $280.00. Built to last. Pure sine wave, NOT modified sine. Built in transfer switch from shore to battery power.

I'm just starting my search, but.... saw your post.

We have a Jayco Jayflight 26rks and I am planning on exchanging the 12V Interstate Marine/RV battery (group 24) that the dealer installed with 2 6v deep cell GC batteries like the Trojan T105 or the Interstate equivalent. I have and will be changing all the incandescent bulbs in the TT with LED's (2.8w) bulbs which will cut my energy consumption big time vs the 921 Incandescent Jayco installed. I am wondering if we would be able to run off the lights at night (of course we wil run the minimum number in the area to keep consumption down. I'm sure we will have the typical water pump usuge daily. Hopefully by May, the Smokies will be warm enough we won't need the heat at night.

Given this any guess how I will hold up for 3 nights 2 days? I"ll plug the TT in to the truck to move the slide out and in during set up and take down. hopefully we will only need to run the awing out when we get there and when we leave. Lets call this My Base set up.

Then, I am wondering about installing a pure sign inverter, my guess I'd use it for a notebook from time to time, charge cell phones, tablets. I am going to run a Killmeter on my TV tomorrow on my AC set up and It will probably give me a pretty good idea of what the tV will draw. I don't see any other items that need to be run while dry camping. I do hear that the Propane detector does run all the time, they say it can really draw down a battery (thats kind of crazy) but has others experienced this.

We have just decided to do some dry camping so any information would be helpful..

As for the inverter for sale here, it looks great, wish you were closer to us and could help us hook it up.... but I'm not mechanically minded enough to try it at this point... There is a 12 cig adapter close to where the light switches are and I assume that is probably less than 5a 12 so could a small pure sign inverter be used off of this?

Sorry for the crazy questions... just hope to get some input from folks that have done boon docking, and understand what I am talking about :-) Of course we choose a campsite that does not allow generators which would have made all this so much easier.. but my wife didn't want to be in a Generator loop.

Thanks in advance for any help.

On my last Trailer I installed a switch on the propane detector so I could switch it off when I'm not there to hear it anyway.

Hi Norty 1, Yes this is still available. I'd forgotten about it. It's buried in my garage somewhere but I'd be happy to dig it out and make sure all is good to go if you're interested. Let me know in a private message. Thanks
