"The Jayco Pre Delivery Inspections began in January of 2019"

Well THAT exlains why my 2020 5er had over 35 warranty issues.

The dealers have been not pleased with the quailty, not to mention the customers. Now that sales are slowing down they are getting concerned about quality. Jayco's warranty costs must be huge, and the bean counters are likely driving this. I wonder what the warranty cost of fixing all of my 5er's issues was.

You have to remember that all the components are covered by their respective manufacturers. Jayco is probably getting some reimbursement for those units and the associated labor costs.

Oh yes, I do know components have their own warranty. Most of the things I had issues with were of the actual build process, very poor trim installation, trim loose, overdriven screws breaking plasic parts, broken screws, missing screws, inproperly installed slide assemblies... I wonder how many items they charge back to the supplers when the root cause was poor installation

[QUOTE=SloPoke;1084555...
It's only a marketing gimmick, There was nothing stated about fixing the issues... they only inspected them... and they proudly send it on it's way...
....[/QUOTE]

Perhaps you missed this in the article "allows for an additional key step in the manufacturing process to identify and fix any potential issues before they arrive at the dealer. "

In any case, I know many have had issues, I have been fortunate and although I would like a new unit, I would also be concerned with warranty issues and in particular the backlog of warranty service requests. Mine is still like new as I haven't had the time to use it as much as I would like to do so and I still have less than 14k miles on it. Over the course of many years, I can say that even though an issue still occurs now and then, almost all of the issues have been taken care of already.

Bottom line, inspecting 100% of the Jayco RV's has to be a step in the right direction especially when compared to inspecting only some of the RV's prior to sending them out to the dealers. ~CA
