12v led lght strip

I have a florescent ceiling light with a bad ballast I am considering replacing the two florescent bulbs with two 12inch adhesive backed led light strips mounted in the plastic light case. Questioning if the led will emit enough light and if there could be a problem wiring directly into the 12v system. I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

Absolutely, I have done it in my house! You can buy LED bulb replacements, but they are insanely expensive. First thing to consider is what is your power source 120V AC or 12V DC. If it was me I would try to install multiple of the cheap 48 LED panels everyone likes (if they will fit). If 120V you could install a small transformer to power them. Or if you are ambitious you could pull a few 12V power lines from the converter box or from another 12V item in the area.

The two 12 strip LEDs probably do not put out enough light. You might be able to install 4 or 6 to get more light. But multiple 48 LED panels I expect would work better and would be cheaper.
