13,500 AC or 15,000 BTU AC?

I just ordered a 2013 28 DSBH this weekend and I have until wednesday to make any changes as to upgrades/colors and such. I'm leaning towards wanting the 15,000 btu ac but want to know what other owners in similar trailers think. Do I need the upgrade? Is there any reason I shouldn't get the upgrade? Tell me what you think!

That's probably a decision for your wants more than anything else.

Everybody wants "BIGGER" "BIGGER"....

If I was adding a second air conditioner I would think of a 9000 btu model maybe that would run great with my 2KW Honda Generator. Both the 13,500 and 15,000 are too big to run from the 2KW Honda...

We do just fine without air conditioning as we do alot of camping off the power grid running everything from the Batteries.

Get the 15K unit, only a 143.00 option last time I checked over the 13.5K unit. It would cost you much more to swap out later. I ordered mine with the 15K unit, no regrets.

Yes. 143 was the list and with my discount to MSRP it actually cost me about 100.00 which made it a no brainer IMO.

15,000 btu for sure. You can always turn it down.

Does the 15k AC then make your trailer 50 Amp not 30 Amp? If so my only 2 concern would be looking for 50 Amp hookups or having to use a Dog Bone much more frequently. And, if you have a smaller GenSet, say Yamaha 2400, that can run a 13.5AC it likely won't run a 15k AC.

Good question... anybody know? Does it then make your trailer a 50 amp and not a 30 amp?
