I would go for the upgrades. With the 50a service, you are probably wired for a second a/c in case you want to add it later. I ordered that upgrade simply to get rid of that annoying pull out cord. The 50a service upgrade plugs into the camper and into the pedestal, although the cord is big and heavy. I bought the adapters below to plug into the house to cool the fridge and another one for places with 30a service since I already have extension cords from previous trailers.

NJ, so did your trailer come with a cord at all though? They dont have the attached cord like the 30amp?
Not a problem just curious. I'm actually going for it. Made the deposit yesterday at my lunch break.

Norty - I thought about as well... Used tp see these old M series army trailer for sale a lot... When I was working at Dahlgren and NAVY MARS was still going I used to go to Toby-Hanna up in MD or maybe that was PA and I could pick those up all over the place an issue them out to MARS MEMBERS... We have a local gun shop here in King George that has one on display outside their place... Don't know if they would sell that or not... If you could find one with the top canvas cover like this one might be neat also...

The one I showed is definitely high dollar.. The teardrop trailer would be neat for me to setup my Ham Radio gear... Open the back for the kitchen, and climb up on top to sleep...
I would use my trusty ole Jeep to tow it around haha...
Thanks for the photo - interesting...

Oh, they're out there even in the mid-west.
Some of the newer CG's where all sites have the combo 50amp/30amp post will have a single campsite price, but rest assured the 50amp availability set the price point.
I've seen some older campgrounds in the mid-west where original 30amp sites are around $5 cheaper than an upgraded site with a combo 50amp/30amp post (or dedicated 50amp).

Trippy, yes, it came with a cord, 25ft I think. It is big (6ga wire) and heavy. It is a separate cord and not attached like the 30a, which is what I wanted.
Congrats on moving on from the questionable one!

Good to know. Thanks!
Yeah. I mean if I get there and this one is junk, then maybe I'll continue on to the other one since this one is on the way, but you guys convinced me this one with the extra options is a better deal, so I'm gonna try it. Plus it'll save us probably 3 hours or more of travel time since we will probably have the kiddos with us.

Yep, the guy told me he bought the trailer at a Army Surplus sale and added the tent and other additions. He carried a kayak equipped for fishing and it seemed like a good setup.

Here is my .02........A 15K ac unit, not having to work at 100% to cool your crib, or, a 13K unit having to run pedal to the metal, will need less attention and most likely last longer. Any device running at full rated power, isn't going to last as long, as one that doesn't have to.
That's what I think.

I live in northern Colorado so we don't need AC when we go camping locally, but we drove 9,000 miles last year to multiple destinations with our eagle 5th wheel trailer and needed AC at many destinations. I recommend getting the 50 amp service especially if the trailer is set up for a 2nd AC. We have 2 ac units and 50 amp. If you end up in a warm place you will appreciate it. We had one AC go out on us, but were able to manage with the other unit. For a little extra $ upfront it is well worth it.

Any tips? I printed the PDI checklist, but wont have time with 3 girls to check EVERYTHING.

Yes, 50amp is worth it. With an adapter you can still hook up to30 amp if that is all that is a available. For $600, go for it

Just got it!!!!! Looked over it pretty good I think. Found a couple small areas I need to add some sealant but nothing worth getting worried or upset about. One question on these new electric awnings I may post up about...
But when extending the awning... should it stop when its extended, or do I have to know when to stop??? This one extends, and then keeps coming back in rolling the cover the opposite way. Kind of odd but they said that's what the new ones do. "You have to stop pushing the button when the flap is down.

Congratulations on picking up your TT. I wish you many, many days of enjoyment. Yes, you will have to pay attention when extending the awning. I have been told that it will roll up inside out if left unattended. I have also seen on YouTube that you should extend the awning, stop for a few seconds, then continue out. This extends the life of the struts. Enjoy the memories.
PS. It is a nice looking rig.

We have a 2017 Jayco 24.5CKTS (5th wheel) that came equipped with 50 Amp. I could not figure out why it was 50 (every other RV I have owned has only required 30), so I asked Jayco. The reply was that it was mainly because the unit was pre-wired for a second A/C.

Worth it in my opinion
I would go with the new one with the upgrade. A repaired one is still repaired and may have problems down the road. Even though it may not get above 90 where you camp you need to keep in mind when the sun is hitting the roof at mid day the camper will heat up even with good insulation in the roof. The 50 amp is great to have. You may not always need it but it's there if you do.

Being able to add load while A/C is running without tripping a breaker.
Microwave ,wife's hair dryer, using water heater on AC instead of LP mode.
