'18 Jayco Eagle - Wireless Remote Battery

Getting the red, low battery warning (on the upper right corner of the display) on the wireless remote for our '18 Jayco Eagle. This is the wireless remote that controls the slides, front/rear stabilizers, and awning lights.

I believe there's a Motorola mini-usb port at the bottom of the remote. Any chance this remote uses a rechargeable battery which can be charged via this usb port?

In the event I do have to remove the back to replace the batteries, anyone know what kind of screws are on the back of the remote? They appear to be very, very small Torx-type screws.

Thanks!

I have a 2017 Eagle, I just use an old phone charger with the same plug to charge the remote.

I found a charge block in the drawer of my trailer when I bought it. Maybe there is one in your trailer somewhere.

I also had a charger that came with the trailer, it’s in there somewhere....I’m sure I’ll find it someday.

Yes it was in the drawer. Full charge takes a couples of hours and it's ready for more camping.

Unfortunately, there was no charger in our new Jayco. Just discovered the charger for my wife's bluetooth earpiece also uses a mini-usb port. Plugged it into the Jayco remote. Voila, charged it up in no time! Thanks again, everybody!

Once again, the Jayco Owners Forum comes through for me when the manual fails me! My remote quit working yesterday after just a few uses. Nothing in the (generally useless) manual that I could find about charging it, or changing the battery. Thanks to this forum, I learned that it needed to be charged. My Jayco Eagle HT did NOT come with the charger.

Of course, for some dumb reason, the normal mini-plug used for all our cell phones doesn't fit. I was able to find an old Motorola cell phone charger with the correct plug, and now my remote is charging...just before we need to leave for a 10 day camping trip.

Thanks again to all who contribute here, it really does help others a LOT!

So in my 2020 Jayco pinnacle FLWS the remotes do not recharge, although the above info was very useful. The small slot in the bottom of my remote was not for a usb after all. As it turns out trying to plug a mini USB up to mine it tripped the latch that keeps my remote together. Alakazam there was the disk battery “2032” 3v variety. So I will purchase a couple packs of those to have on hand. Once again Jayco Owners forum helps me out thanks guys. Oh yeah can’t wait for the plastic to dry out and crack that little tab off that keeps them together. Will be taped together after that happens. Hahaha

Remote charging???

I to had no charger that came with the trailer.

I'm using an old cell phone charger, but the battery icon doesn't do anyting.

Does anyone know if the battery icon blinks when charging or does it just show what level it's charge???

Thanks,
Andy
