2 Low Fan/ AC Settings
Why are there 2 setting on the fan a/c knob marked as 'Low"? Is there supposed to be different fan speeds? Our runs the same no mater which 'Low' setting you have it on..

Mine is the same way - it "appears" to be the same, but supposedly it is slightly different - but I can't tell the difference. I like the airflow, so I leave mine on high all the time.

I can hear the difference on mine between low and high.

I've been wondering the same thing. My new 2012 is that way, as is my brothers 10 year old Jayco pop up.

On my thermostat (Coleman Mach) there's High and Low for the "AUTO" setting (fan only comes on when AC runs) and a High and Low for the "ON" setting (where fan runs constantly when in AC mode). Are those the two "Low" settings you're talking about?

I dont know if it has to do with being ducted, but I just cant tell the difference no matter what I did. I though at first there was something wrong with my unit, but then I talked to some forum folks and saw other units and they were the same. I have another vehicle with a non-ducted and it is pretty obvious going from high-low.
This is just me, but I like the airflow anyway and dont see that much benefit to a low setting with a ducted system - it is already pretty quiet as it is.

on mine there is the fan high/low and then a fan switch for on/auto high/low.
the first one runs the fan of the ac unit on the roof. The on/auto switch is the fan switch for the furnace

This is just a guess...so bear with me. Some AC units are actually heat pump types of units, capable of providing either cooling, or heat. Might it be possible that the other "low" setting" would be used for heat, if the model were so equipped?

My Coleman Mach is the same way. Low fan, low fan, high fan, low cool, high cool. Most likely Coleman had a bunch of 5 position switches and just used them to get rid of them. Probably thought those stupid campers will never know the difference.
We sure showed them didn't we??
I also thought that maybe one of the fan settings was for a unit that might have an electric heating element in it. My manual doesn't really explain it.

The two low speed fan settings on the Coleman non-ducted roof mount ac unit are both low speed fan if the unit is ac only. If it also has the the electric heat option or add on kit the first low speed setting would be for low heat.

I asked our dealer when we picked up our unit this weekend and this was the answer we got.
Apparently you can add a heat strip and use the second "Fan Low" for heat.
