Just bought a new pickup and the deal included the pickup bed being coated.
Found it was done by a local body shop.

So I'm going to have them do the non skid areas. Now the interesting part is getting the tank covers off, so I can take them to the body shop. All the non-skid is gone and I tried to get the screws out. Not happening, yet. Sprayed with rust buster yesterday and will try the impact wrench this morning. All solutions work, some just take a little longer.

Congrats on the new truck. Why did you get?

Please keep us posted on how the tank cover/step removal progresses.

Good luck.

"Why did I get a new pickup?"

Since retirement I have been pursuing a life long dream of learning to operate a ride on steam engine. The last 3 years have allowed me to make great advances. The Traverse has just gotten a little small to haul around the equipment and if we want to use the back seat everything out.

So maybe a pickup is the wrong term. The 2018 Crew Cab Silverado is really a self powered, steerable box trailer. Capable of carrying 4 adults and the steam equipment locked away in the bed of the pickup with a camper shell over the top of it.

Still have the Traverse, so now both vehicles are towable.

I am so sorry! Stupid Siri and auto spell correct. A man does not need to justify getting a new pick up. I asked “what did you get?” and apparently my thumbs hit the wrong buttons and it turned to why?

Enjoy the new truck. And what is a “ride on steam engine” ?

No need to apologize, and I did answer your simple question in my long answer. Learned my way around getting the drive train on the Silverado in to neutral today. Also got a knife switch installed to shut off the 12 volt power.

Lights and break away are getting hooked up Tuesday and the tow bar for the hitch is already installed.

I also got the wood floor in the bed of the pickup to hold the engines. It won't "permanently" go in until after the camper shell is installed. Sometime within the next 2 weeks, hopefully.

If not? Plan B. Always have Plan B.
