2020 Hurricane season #1 Isiais

Hurricane Isisis is our first of this season. Latest is it will slow down this weekend as it approaches Florida and starts to turn to much needed rain. That will be welcome in place of the earlier forecast of a cat 1 off shore from SC.

We are in a bind without a hitch for our truck for now.

Zip ties and duct tape always work in a bind.

Well as usual forecasts change and opportunities are dashed to stir up the masses and sell all the bread and gas. The unpronounceable storm is sulking away in embarrassment due to no one being able to master it's pronunciation.

We are starting to get some light rain, soon to be heavy and same with wind as the minimal storm slips speedily past Charleston. We do need the rain so all will not be lost.

Hopefully as it moves up the eastern coast others will welcome the rain and there will be no wind damage.

I'm glad we didn't do anything more than bring lawn furniture in and tie up anything loose. Actually kind of surprised. We are still waiting for our generator to be delivered, so I figured for sure we'd get hit. Hopefully it'll get here and be ready for use in time for the next storm that comes our way.

We were expecting to get a glancing blow, but the storm completely missed us as it is now further out to sea than expected. I am hoping others are as lucky we were.

We had a rainy and windy day here in Charleston, By 7 pm it moved on up the coast and we even has a little clearing skies and some sun. Minimal damage from broken limbs beating up mail boxes and in my yard one broke 2 power down guys but we did not lose power. I hear it is going to strengthen over night before moving NE.

I sure wish they could get some storm names that we can pronounce!

Unfortunately, the storm ruined our stay at 1st Landing St ate Park in Va Beach, VA. We took our granddaughter.

Checked in on Sunday, and the park closed at 5 on Monday. I know the park had to act out of an abundance of caution, but the weather service was calling for maybe 2 inches of rain at the park, whereas, they were calling doe up to 8" in the Richmond area.

At least we will get refunded for the nights not used.
