30 to 15amp adaptor saved the trip

So we arrived at our campsite on Friday around 5:30pm. Got the TT dropped and all leveled up and started to hook up the utilities. Went to plug in my 30amp electrical cord and all the pedestal had was a 50amp and regular 20amp 110v plugs.. ARRGGG... Drove up to the main office and the only other campsites that were available with 30 amp hookups didn't have sewer (I didn't bring my blue tote) because we had reserved a full hookup site. And no matter how hard we try we cannot go a full weekend without needing to empty the gray tank at least once. So as I am standing there fuming and trying to figure out what to do I remembered that I always carry my 30am to 15amp adaptor so that I can plug into the house to cool down the refrigerator and have lights, etc.. while we are packing up. It was a pleasant weekend with the lows in the mid 50's and the highs around 80 so I figured we could get away without the A/C and really just needed lights. So I got back, hooked everything up, set the water heater and the refrigerator to gas only. We ended up needing the A/C for a couple of hours during the day so I shut all the lights down, etc, and we were able to run it for a couple of hours during the warm part of the day. Once the sun set we were able to turn it off and just run the fan. We ended up still being able to use the microwave and such and all ended up perfect. I strung an exension cord up direct to the pedistal to run our outside lights so that we wouldn't trip the TT breakers... I'll be ordering a 30 to 50amp adaptor on Monday just in case this ever happens again.

You should consider a 50 to 30 amp adapter as well. I carry one of each. A side benefit is the 50 amp receptacle on some pedestals gets used a lot less frequently so they are often in better shape.

I agree, the 30 amp receps on the pedestals get used more therefore making them loose when you plug in. That looseness creates a heat problem on your plug and before you know it your plug is burned up and needs to be replaced. I carry all the adapters, I would rather use the 50 amp recep and my dogbone for my 30 amp plug, I know it's a good and tight connection.

Yeah, they gave me the 50amp to 30amp and I bought from Amazon a 50amp to 15amp to plug into my house, it make life a little better.
