50A to 30 amp dogbone

Had to use my 50 amp to 30 amp dogbone this weekend for the first time. Glad I had it. CG was booked solid, get to the site, checked our 30 amp outlet, and it read an open ground. Pulled out the dogbone, and tested the 50 amp outlet, all checked out.

We got a bit lucky, this is the only site in this SP that also has a 50 amp breaker. The temps have been in the high 90's all weekend, so AC was a requirement of my DW.

After setting up, went up told the front office staff, about the electrical issue and they did not have a clue what I was talking about. Not even sure they passed on the information to maintenance.

Glad I had the dogbone!

Another one of those "better to have too much spare stuff than not enough" moments. I've run into that with bad breakers at the pedestal. Ran the genset and luckily the maintenance guy was there quick and fixed everything.

Always be prepared, as obviously you were.

Jagivin...

I had the opposite problem. All 50A sites were full. Luckily I had a 30 amp to 50 amp dog-bone. Good to have spare parts!

I'm not surprised; that's happened to me couple times before.

I am a firm believer in "Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it" I'm pretty sure I am prepared for most any setup curve ball thrown at me...

My PLAN B box keeps getting fuller and fuller hehe...

Certainly pays off when the need arises...

Occasionally I get to help out a neighbor camper - PRICELESS... You know what they are going to do when they get back home...
