I learned a lot at RV.net. Spent a great deal of time there but eventually got fed up with the few folks that treated you like an idiot if your response wasn't in line with theirs or they disagreed with you. This is a MUCH better forum in its tone.

I love this forum. New people are treated with respect, and not put down for their lack of knowledge. I read thru most of the posts, whether they apply to my current fiver and TV or not. Never know what info will come in handy! I think the moderators do an excellent job of keeping everything rolling along. Friendly folks willing to help each other out, isn't that what a forum is supposed to be? Remember newbies, no such thing as a dumb question, at least not here. Go JOF!

This poll from two years ago tells us that an overwhelming majority of members are satisfied with the way this forum is run by staff. Thanks for the vote of support, and apologies to the few that are not happy.

This is definitely one of the best forums I have been a member of... Over several years of drag racing, I have been a member of many racing forums - they are full of so much BS, that I rarely go to any of them these days... guess I'm getting old and prefer the laid back camping life

Is there a "For Sale" section on this forum. People are constantly buying and selling parts, supplies, etc. but I have not seen a for sale forum. I have a couple generators I'm looking to get rid of. Thanks

I have not been a member of very many forums, but this forum is one of the best out there. No talking down to others, no sniping about "dumb questions", just a lot of friendly help for the other members. I think the moderators do a great job of gently keeping the threads on track, and letting people know where to look for threads pertaining to their questions.

10 years ago I was an admin and moderator of several large forums (car related), but eventually got burnt-out. This is my first time actually joining and participating in one since those days. I have lurked forums in all that time, but decided to join because you guys are amazing. Everyone is very welcoming and I love the approach that when someone posts a new thread of something very common, the veteran is posting a link to a thread but also gives them a personal explanation that pertains to the question.

I also like getting to know the different regulars and their levels of expertise in specialized topics of the RV world.

Thank you!

I too am thrilled with this forum. I think this venue is by far the most respectful, most helpful, and best run forum I have ever had the pleasure of being a member of and I have been a member of many other venues for years.

I belong to a dozen or so forums, this is one of my favorites at the moment, and definitely my favorite in the RV category.

I understand why some of the more political posts get shut down, but it did bother me a bit when I was pretty new and I started a friendly post about how people are securing firearms in their RV's and it was locked before it even began to get political at all. Seemed a bit too sensitive in that area. Otherwise ZERO complaints.

Yes those gun threads have a history of going south darn fast. It was likely nipped in the bud before having a chance to do so.

Don't feel bad. I'm on several forums as well so these aren't new to me either. This forum definitely seems to have the finger on the dump button quite often. No biggie but it does seem selective.

It's all good. I probably haven't been around this one long enough to fully understand the history of the locks and how some of them perhaps go downhill so fast... there is no tolerance for the topics. I just move on to more politically correct conversations. Guns is a controversial topic even within the firearms community itself, so I wasn't too surprised.

We have similar rules with some of our friends / family when they come by.. presidential politics is a prime example. I haven't punched my dad since I was 18, we have these rules to keep that from happening ever again.

"Newbies made to feel welcome" is this forum's strong suit!

I feel that the moderators are only slightly over-zealous in their work.

It might be nice to have an Off Topic Zone where "less than polite" topics can be discussed.
