The road has seriously deteriorated , and frankly is unsafe on certain stretches for any vehicle! Trucks were swerving to avoid the potholes and bad pavement, and there were a couple of times I thought something was bound to break on my trailers suspension. It was basically a white knuckled 2 hour experience, and I say that after being a 32 year semi driver with millions of logged miles. To call it a part of America's Interstate highway system is a joke. Driving it at night has to be a littoral nightmare!
And the good news is... AZDOT has been working on I-40 from the California border east... They have been paving sections of the truck lane EB and WB to Kingman and are working their way East. Right at the moment, they have the construction signs starting after Stockton Hill on the EB side.

I just ran down to LHC yesterday and it was a "Night/Day" difference. The Truck lane is almost better than the hammer lane.

It is a HUGE improvement. I was in Havasu last weekend, but not in the RV.

They just repaved the East bound side from the Andy Devine exit to almost to the TA about 6 years ago. Sections of that stretch are all ready showing excessive wear. Must have only had a 90 day warranty.....or a cheap mix of blacktop! 🙁
