AC Recommendations

Hi All,

I'm looking for a small portable efficient AC unit. I am (for now) stationary in an RV park in Texas. Trying to prepare for the summer heat.
I am looking for an AC unit that will be a lot less to run then my rooftop AC.

Anybody know or have anything like this? I'm not really interested the indoor big stand alone units, don't really have room for those, +they consume almost as much power as my rooftop!

It's all relative. Anything smaller than what your rooftop is will not keep you cool.

I have a heat pump/ AC that is on wheels and has two hoses. Need about 2 x 3 feet floor space and a window that opens upward, not tilt out. They are very efficieint and cost about $450. Don't get the single tube portable AC as they won't work without pulling in a lot of hot air from outside. Seer is about 20 for mine, maybe twice the roof one.

You would be better served by putting mylar bubble wrap sold as pipe wrap in all unused windows and all sun facing windows to cut heat coming in.

What make is it? The problem with this is what do I do with it when it's not needed? No place to store it.

Search "dual hose portable AC" Amazon has a bunch, other sellers. Note, single hose models use interior air to work so have to draw in air from somewhere else in the building/Rv which prevents efficient cooling but is cheaper to make.

It really depends on what you have already? I suspect that it will not be possible to find any A/C that you can use in your rv that will be a lot less $$$ to run than what you already have. One possibility would be to install a high efficiency A/C in the bedroom roof vent (if you don't already have two a/c's and just use that whenever possible (nights for example).

I would suggest that it would be better use of your $$$ to cover your windows with some reflective bubble wrap and seal (cover) any air leaks such as perhaps your floor heating vents. ~CA
