On my eu 3000 is I put a piece of 5/8" rebar through the gen rack holes and through the "legs" on the gen and welded the bar to the rack. I didnt plan on using it around the house. And if I need it off I can cut/grind the welds easy enough.......BTW, I bought my Octane with an Alaska trip in mind. I tried a couple of times to do the pipeline road (Dalton) on my BMW 1200 gs adventure , but never made it. I'm in NY and I would need at least the same 2 months as you. So my trip will probably have to wait till I retire. Good luck! I'm jealous.

Wow! What an adventure!! We spent two weeks here in 2008.
Tunnel Mountain Campground
Very highly recommended. Elk and deer wander right through the grounds most evenings.

Have a wonderful trip!!
