Am I the only one to notice?

Hi All,

Am I the only one to notice there are fewer posts on this site, more RV staying in storage than ever before, and fewer RV's on the road? Seems like a trend or is it just me?

I suspect it is simply that time of the year. Everything seems to pick back up in the spring. ~CA

Time of the year surely might have something to do with it, but when I travel to local campgrounds the only tags I see are from the same state or within 200 miles.

Yeah, winter does have that kind of effect on camping/traveling depending on where you live I guess.

We may get above freezing here next week for a few days. That will get me thinking about it a little more.

You're possibly in the wrong state! RV resorts and the state parks near our current location in AZ are usually fully filled. Canada, Florida, Maine, Vermont, Michigan and more plates abound. Many RV's on the I-10 interstate also.

A pretty large part of the country has campers that are hibernating for the winter. In my part of New York I camp through October and then lay it up until early March unfortunately...

In addition, all the full cg's in Florida are filled with people from out of state.

I am in SW Georgia and I have checked at several State park campgrounds. Not much business. I was on I-10 from Jacksonville FL to Mississippi and did notice fewer RV's than last year. Just hope it's due to time of year.

Spring break cycle is coming and we had a unusual warm January, February looks to be the same here in North Alabama so we may head out early on short trips.

We close up in early November and open again in April. Most of our RVing is from May through October. Lot of northern campgrounds close by mid-October due to possible early water line freezing.

Probably lots of northern RVs sitting out winter.

Fewer posts on this forum would be a loss; fewer campers in campgrounds would not be.

Could be that with gas prices still higher than two years ago, that some people don’t have the money left over to go on a trip! We have been blessed over the years to be able to travel in our M/H and want to plan a trip to Yosemite area but gas out there is still $5 or a little less, and I just don’t want to pay that much!
But if you are able to go then Safe Travels

We just recently stated browsing new trailers. Haven't made any real decision yet and haven't actually tried to negotiate a deal. But, I can tell you that locally there are more than one left over 2022 models available and one in particular unit is listed 36% off of MSRP (If I'm doing the math correctly...LOL).

Seems like things are back to the way they were availability wise and every dealer we have visited is stocked full of new units.

The local SOB dealer on the edge of town now has a full lot, up from the four that they were down to. We thought they might have decided to close down but have apparently bounced back. Good to see.

We are not traveling far this year. Will be out, but closer to home. I thought we were supposed to have more time to ourselves after all of the chicks flew the coup.
