Thanks for replying, I went with a large group about 13 years ago and the leader had the whole trip planned out. So all we did was follow the leader, caravan style and parked and paddled wherever we were told.

I don't see too many RV's that go kayaking and wondering if there are any more out there?

I use the Apex Universal Truck Rack (looks like a ladder rack but with many holes to secure straps) to put my boats on top of my truck while I RV

I live in Cincinnati OH and travel around OH, IND & KY the most.
If anyone would like to meet-up and go kayaking on a river up to class 2 (I now go with my dog - black lab) and/or lake...please let me know
Technically I'm a camper that loves to kayak.

One of the problems with kayaking or canoeing with a trailer is storage of the trailer while out camping on the water for a couple of weeks..
What do you do with your trailer? We are going down the Yukon for 500 miles and need to store the trailer in Whitehorse for a week.

I just do day trips now in my kayak
Haven't parked it do over nights in my kayak
Have done a little over nights in my touring kayak but that was before my RV
I would be a little apprehensive to leave it for several days in a place I am not familiar with
Good luck with your plans

Norty: What are you using to mount your Kayaks on top of your truck? How long are your Kayaks? My truck is a 6.5' CC, would that be a problem?

Looks like Norty has Yakima or Thule racks and saddles for the little kayaks. You can do the same if your kayaks are that short.
Ours are some 8 feet longer ( expedition sea kayaks ) so we need more spread.

We have Yakima racks and saddles. Pricey but we have been using them for thirty years.. Started kayaking back in 87..paddling in 1963

We are campers that go kayaking. We use Yakima JayLow folding cradles on top of our ARE truck caps. The new truck will use the same tower setup. I ordered the ARE cap with the Yakima tracks.
