Any opinion on an rv cover for the winter?

Hello, we just purchased a new 2014 22fb jayflight and can't wait to use it. Living in the northeast, it will have to be winterized for the winter. Does anyone recommend using one of those special rv covers to help protect it during the winter vs just putting a tarp on it ? I I know if will have to try to take any heavy snow off of it throughout the winter. This is our first rv and we don't have a clue so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. "To cover or not to cover, that is the question". There are many opinions on this subject and it has been debated on RV forums many times.

Here is our own poll on RV covers and discussion.

Stopped this am to get a quote on a 13'x31' carport that would be used to cover the TT when parked at my home. Delivered and installed price was $1600 so I figure another $1000 for some fill and gravel and I can have a covered site that will allow me to use the TT for overflow during the summer and holidays. Looked at the covers at CW but from the previous blogs, many say they are a pain to install and remove and just not for us because we use the RV off and on year around.
