Anyone have their steps come down while driving?

Hello friends,

On Saturday I was taking my 2013 32BHDS to winter storage, a 30 mile drive. The steps came down twice while driving.

I did not have time to examine the steps, as it was cold and windy. So I will deal with it in the spring. I also did not have time time to look at my manuals to see exactly what manufactuters step I was dealing with, or what the manual might say about loose steps.

I am just wondering, has this happened to anyone else? Maybe just a loose bolt?

Any thoughts to mull over the winter would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ensign.

Yup!!!
Last year on our way to Colorado, traveling through Kansas (west end), we had some pretty strong wind gusts. As I was driving, I noticed that the front stairs were opening. By the time I pulled over to the side, the back stairs opened. This happened 2 more times before I finally got out the bungee cords and made sure they were secure.

Has not happened since, although we have not gone through Kansas since then.

Yes, when the West Texas winds are gusting, it will do a number on my steps. I have a strong bungee cord that I secure them with prior to traveling on windy days, which is generally all spring around here. I have never had a problem with them coming down just going down the highway, only when we were having wind over 30MPH.

Same problem here. I now use a bungee cord all the time to keep it from happening again. The first time it happened I almost clipped a curb coming into a rest area in NM.
